At first, M.Video will be able to sell smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Honor, Huawei, OPPO, realme, Tecno and others. To redeem the device, it is necessary to diagnose the presence of errors in the software and check the ownership documents in one of the network stores. The retailer will repair the phone and then put it up for sale in the “refurbished product” category. According to the company’s estimates, the volume of the reconditioned equipment market in Russia amounts to 130 billion rubles.

In May this year, the chain informed Vedomosti that the group would begin to intensify sales of used laptops and smartphones, focusing on brands such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Asus, Honor and Thunderobot. The price difference between these equipment and the new ones is 15% to 60%, stated the company’s top manager.

M.Video-Eldorado’s IFRS net loss in the first half of 2024 increased by 82% year-on-year to 8.5 billion rubles, TASS reported. The company associates the group’s financial losses with an increase in the Central Bank’s official interest rate.

The market for sales of reconditioned equipment is experiencing significant growth and has high margins, says Andrey Agapov, head of the physical services department of the M.Video-Eldorado group. However, the newspaper’s source among retailers disagreed with the assessments about the prospects of this market and expressed doubts that the new service will help the group resolve its difficult financial situation. Another Kommersant interlocutor called the sale of used devices high-margin, since equipment is purchased at a discount of up to 40% and sold with a 15% profit margin, but doubts the popularity of the new one. service.

In November, the group began selling advertising on device screens placed in retail store windows. In early December, M.Video-Eldorado announced the launch of a cash microcredit program in the amount of up to 100 thousand rubles and for a period of up to 12 months for any purpose.
