WhatsApp announced a suite of new features for voice and video calls; check this out

WhatsApp has announced a host of new features that will complement your calls during the festive season. This Thursday (12) the platform introduces new augmented reality filters, more options to initiate calls and better quality video calls.

THE The first of the additions is the selection of participants for group conversations. According to WhatsApp, you can now start a call in a group conversation by selecting specific participants, so you don’t have to notify all members of the conversation.

This way, the call is prevented from interrupting any of the members’ important tasks, such as working hours. Additionally, the solution can be used to plan surprises and arrange meetings with specific people.

WhatsApp also included a new “Calls” tab on the computer. THE the section has been redesigned to include a “Favorites” section for preferred contactsIt shows if there is a call in progress and easy shortcuts to start chatting with someone.

Voice search improvements

According to WhatsApp, update improved call quality on all platforms. “Calls are now more reliable, and you can enjoy high-definition videos with a clearer image in individual and group calls,” the company said. No technical details were given about the improvements.

Finally, there are new effects for video calls: WhatsApp now offers ten effects to liven up calls, such as dog ears, water immersion effects, and voice changers.

In the press release, WhatsApp hasn’t said when the add-on pack will be generally available. However, the text suggests that the supplements should be distributed before the year-end holidays.
