At the time of this publication (18:45 Moscow time), Bitcoin was worth 106.4 thousand dollars, an increase of 0.1% in the last 24 hours.

The price of Bitcoin has increased for the seventh consecutive week, the cryptocurrency is supported by the statements of US President-elect Donald Trump, Bloomberg writes.

Previously, Trump promised that his administration would “do something great with cryptocurrencies” to ensure that the United States does not fall behind China and other major players in this industry. He also admitted that a “strategic bitcoin reserve” would appear in the country, similar to strategic fuel reserves.

Investor optimism is also growing amid news about MicroStrategy, the world’s largest bitcoin holder among companies. Earlier it became known that the developer, which owns 439 thousand coins with a total value of 45.6 billion dollars, will be included in the Nasdaq-100 index, which tracks the shares of the 100 largest companies by capitalization.

A week ago, the price of Bitcoin fell below $95,000 following the news that Microsoft decided not to follow MicroStrategy’s lead and invest in cryptocurrencies. However, since then, the cryptocurrency has overcome the pullback and plunged towards the $110,000 mark, said IG Australia analyst Tony Sycamore.
