Tests have shown that frame loss of up to 20 fps is sometimes possible.

The experiment was conducted on a system with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, RTX 4090 and Windows 10. Path of Exile 2, Red Dead Redemption, STALKER 2 and Indiana Jones games were tested.

On average, performance dropped by 4-6%, and this was also evident in CPU-dependent scenes. No fps drop was observed in GPU-loaded games such as Indiana Jones.

The performance drop is due to CPU consumption of the application running in the background. Additionally, fps may be affected by active NVIDIA App features such as shaders or screen recording.

However, in Windows 11, losses can be attributed to problems with AMD and Intel processors.
