Deepwater Asset Management’s Gene Munster believes Apple and Tesla will likely receive tariff cuts. From where? Trump does not want the American company Apple to lose out to Samsung, whose products are mainly produced in South Korea.

This isn’t the first time Apple has avoided tariffs. In 2019, then-President Trump met with CEO Tim Cook, who argued that tariffs would make Apple less competitive with Samsung. Trump agreed and Apple was granted exceptions.

Despite Trump’s insistence that companies move production out of China, it seems “unlikely” that this would infringe on the interests of a major American company like Apple.

Tim Cook’s latest meeting with Trump may indicate that such negotiations are already underway.

Everyone is equal, but some are more equal.
