- On December 16, experts from the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University published a study in which they estimated the income of the creative economy in Russia in 2023 at 14.5 trillion rubles, 27% more than a year before. Since 2019, the revenue of companies in the creative sector has doubled. 60% of revenue came from the “software” (4.4 trillion rubles), “fashion” (2.3 trillion rubles) and “advertising and public relations” (2 trillion rubles) industries.
- “Software” took first place among the top 5 creative industries by the value of intangible assets – 243.9 billion rubles. “Media and media” took second place with 92.4 billion rubles. For every ruble of spending in the creative industries, there are 1.37 rubles of added value and 0.25 rubles of revenue from the federal budget, the expert learned.
The founder and CEO of SberMarketing, Stanislav Andreev, recalled that through import substitution it will be possible to surpass the government’s plan to double the economic effect of creative industries by 2030.
“The growth of the creative industries is also associated with the exit of foreign players from the market, but it has high export potential. The latest advances in the digital segment are already attracting partners from friendly countries, which represents a new source of income,” considers the expert.
According to Maxim Popov, market expert, co-founder of the Paragraph Collection brand and the OneScreen analysis service, the rise of creative professions is a global trend. In addition to software developers, video creation and blogging can be promising areas.
“Designers, videographers, editors, bloggers, opinion leaders and similar specialists are in demand, including due to the enormous need for video content. This is due to the development of markets, where sellers have to “bother” more and more to promote,” said the expert.
According to Popov, the cost of creative services will increase and professionals will remain in short supply. This makes the niche very promising in the coming years.
