Construction of the facility, the first of its kind in Russia, was completed in July 2024. The facility, which can process 700 thousand tons of waste per year, will produce 520 million kWh of clean energy annually after it is put into operation in the near future. This is enough to provide electricity to 80 thousand residents.

The project of the facility is being implemented by AGK-1, a member of the RT-Invest group of companies. Today, the plant near the village of Svistyagino is one of four factories built in the Moscow region and the first that is ready to enter into commercial operation. The company is also building a plant in Tatarstan, as well as similar facilities in the Solnechnogorsk, Naro-Fominsk and Bogorodsk regions.

Once completed, all facilities will process up to 2.8 million tonnes of waste per year.
