The Moscow Stock Exchange announced that it will resume the morning session in the equity and derivatives markets on January 27, 2025. This is stated in a message on the site’s website.

“On January 27, 2025, the Moscow Stock Exchange will resume the morning session in the equity and derivatives markets. Operations in the securities market will be carried out 17 hours a day, from 6:50 to 23:50 Moscow time, in the derivatives market – 15 hours a day, from 8:50 to 23:50 Moscow time”, follow the message.
Morning trading on the stock market will take place from 6:50 Moscow time to 9:50 Moscow time, investors will be able to make transactions in the most liquid stocks, including securities of the index of the Moscow Stock Exchange and the most liquid federal loan bonds (; OFZ).
In the derivatives market, the morning trading session will take place from 8:50 Moscow time to 10:00 Moscow time, investors will have access to all instruments that are traded during the main session, clarifies the message.
An informed source at Interfax reported in early November that the Moscow Stock Exchange could resume morning trading on the stock market. The platform launched a morning trading session in the stock and derivatives markets in 2021, but at the end of February 2022 it was canceled amid the collapse in prices that occurred after the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
In September 2022, the Moscow Stock Exchange resumed the morning trading session in the equity and derivatives markets, but in June 2024, trading was stopped again following the imposition of sanctions against the site.
