Russian team of modders Revolution Team has completed development of an unofficial remaster of GTA: Vice City called Nextgen Edition. The mod combines elements of the classic game and technologies of the modern GTA IV engine, including improved graphics and new features. In addition to the entire story and additional missions, the improved city and weapon models that appeared in the Definitive Edition and cutscenes in the Rage engine will also be available in the game.
Features of the Nextgen Edition include neon buildings in the style of Vice City Stories, new cars and characters from the Xbox version of the game, and several cars from San Andreas. In addition, the mod will add additional improvements, Easter eggs and cheats to bring back the unique atmosphere of Vice City with elements of innovation. According to the developers, work on the project has been completed and they are currently conducting final tests to eliminate bugs and make the game as stable as possible.
Modders claim that GTA: Vice City Nextgen Edition will be released in January 2025 and can be downloaded for free. It will support both Russian and English languages. Let’s remember that the original version of Vice City was released in 2003, and an official remaster of the game was released in 2021 as part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
