He CES 2025 has just given us those moments that happen every year, something that is suspended between technology, the absurd and evokes tenderness: a robot companion named Mirumi, who looks more like a puppet from a children’s play. 31 minutes.
Japanese startup Yukai Engineering is the creator of this small robot designed to imitate the curiosity of a child. Using sensors and adorable bulging eyes, Mirumi detects nearby objects or people and reacts by turning its head towards them questioningly.

However, if you suddenly approach or touch it, the bot will move away with feigned shyness.
Mirumi is a cute robot that will hug your bag or arm. When he senses the presence of a person, he will look at you. This is Yukai Engineering’s first product.

The bot will be available in two colors: pink and gray, with an estimated price of about $70.
Unlike Yukai’s previous creation, Qoobo, a headless robotic cat designed to fit comfortably on your lap, Mirumi has long arms that can be securely attached to the bag’s straps/handles.
Mirumi uses a distance sensor and inertial measurement unit to detect motion, allowing it to respond differently depending on what it detects. As soon as the bag begins to move, the bot begins to look around and directs its gaze to nearby people or objects.
Yukai Engineering CEO Shunsuke Aoki said of its creation: “People often find great joy in sharing their happiness with others. Mirumi is a robot that allows you to do just that.
