Now we return to you not only the “lily on the water” – there will be all the “space” wallpapers, flowers and in general everything that has ever been a wallpaper in all old versions of iOS.
I have never liked the practice of constantly removing wallpaper from systems when using new (and not always pretty) ones. Fortunately, I’m not the only one. Fans have long been sensitive to topical issues the most complete archive on the Internet all branded wallpapers.
So, if you, too, once did not find your favorite picture, the Internet is increasingly polluted by compressed versions and AI fantasies on the topic, do not help – hold the link and select a little (in my opinion) the best wallpapers from the past.
Where to download old wallpapers from iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
The entire archive of all wallpapers in the history of iOS in its original form weighs about 6.5 GB.
On Github. Yes, it’s not the most obvious place to store pictures, but that’s how it goes.
Project Wallpapers for iOS from the user SniperGER For many years now it has been cataloging absolutely all wallpapers from the Apple operating system in their original form and original resolution. That is, no “compression” and pixels where there were none initially. Pictures are “torn out” from the OS as is.
Moreover, there are actually stored here ALL wallpaper versionit is available under every iPhone and iPad screen type and resolution. There are non-Retina images from older iOS. Even Live versions are included. Nowhere else on the Internet have I found such a complete selection of Apple wallpapers as here.
Important. Using Github sections to upload the necessary images is not very convenient, but it is so, and I am glad of it. In order not to dig into the queue, I advise you to press the button on the project screen Code → Download ZIP. Then download all the images at once. The weight of the archive will be about 6.5 GB, all the wallpapers will be there. Or make a local “fork” of the project if you know how it works.
Which branded wallpapers from old iOS do I recommend?
There was a time when Apple tried hard to find great photos for wallpaper (download here).
Below there will be a small seed selection of those pictures that I personally downloaded from the archive first.
Unfortunately, the “originality” of the pictures means that many of them do not fit well on modern iPhone models. Still, they did it, they were under the screens of old devices. It’s all right with the iPad, but on the latest generations of iPhones, especially the Plus and Pro Max series, wallpapers from iOS 5 and below can look sad. You can experiment with programs that increase image resolution without losing quality.
But there is a simpler life hack: use the version for iPad with Retina resolutions (marked @2x). The result looks perfect, and you will have enough free space to “crop” the picture on your iPhone as you wish. These are exactly the ones I used in my selection.
Advice: To open the original picture and download it to your iPhone or iPad, click on the one you like in the list below, and in the window that opens, click on the button. Download.
