According to him, players will be able to choose any of the identification options. Additionally, linking a phone number to an account has already been implemented “on all major video game platforms,” Gorelkin recalled.
The deputy emphasized that the bill does not prohibit the activities of foreign sites, but only proposes to introduce obligations for game publishers, including information to the user about the age rating, features of game content and payments within the game.
In December 2024, a draft law on the regulation of the video game market was submitted to the State Duma. In early January, the speaker of the lower house, Viacheslav Volodin, said that deputies plan to protect Russians from the “destructive content” of games that contain elements of aggression and violence, as well as propaganda for “values alien to us.” ”.
