The reason for the lawsuit was the closure of the collection point (POP) project of the online platform via Exmail, as a representative of the logistics operator informed Vedomosti.

Exmail CEO Andrey Volkov claims that filing a lawsuit was a necessary measure, since Avito’s unilateral termination of the partnership caused damage not only to the company, but also to the franchisees. Volkov added that the contract obligations were fulfilled correctly, for example, the quality of delivery in Moscow and St. Petersburg was 94% and 98%, respectively.

In April 2022, the first collection points for the Internet platform and Exmail were opened. In the summer of 2024, Avito began to reduce cooperation, but Exmail fulfilled its obligations and ensured delivery of all orders. Vedomosti writes that franchisees who opened a collection point under the Avito and Exmail brands can participate in the trial as third parties.

A representative of the platform told the newspaper that the company’s lawyers have already begun to study the content of the lawsuit. He noted that the alliance with the logistics operator ended on October 15, 2024, its termination was scheduled.

In September 2024, the site received written confirmation from Exmail that there were no claims, Avito emphasized. They clarified that the last package, which was in transit with the logistics operator, reached the recipient in December 2024, after which Exmail received the reward “in full.”

Avito decided not to renew cooperation with the logistics operator, including due to the large number of customer complaints about damage and loss of packages (30% more than average), a representative of the online platform explained to Vedomosti. According to him, at the request of Exmail, he postponed the termination of the contract several times so that the operator could comfortably find a new partner.
