According to Rosstat, men earn on average 43.6% more than women in Russia. The average difference between the salaries of representatives of both sexes is 26 thousand rubles per month.

Rosstat reports on this in the collection “Women and Men of Russia 2024”. According to the document, the average accumulated salary of men at the end of 2023 was 87.8 thousand rubles, while the average income of women was 61.1 thousand rubles per month.
The largest wage gap was recorded in the IT sector: 110 thousand rubles per month for women and 169 thousand rubles for men. At the same time, the proportion of female IT staff was 42%.
The most “fair” in terms of salaries between the sexes is the educational sector, where the salary level is 49 thousand for women and 51 thousand for men. The proportion of female representatives in this area is 80.5%.
According to Rosstat, the average salary of men is higher than that of women in all areas of activity. Furthermore, in 2021 the wage gap between men and women was 38% (67 thousand and 48.5 thousand rubles, respectively).
In 2023, male managers earned 44% more than female managers: 159,326 rubles versus 110,639 rubles, respectively.
In Moscow, men earn 19.8% more than women. The salary level in 2023 was 143.4 thousand rubles for male employees and 119.7 thousand rubles for female employees.
