It is the first FPGA (field programmable logic integrated circuit) based console to provide accurate hardware emulation of the original PS1 without using traditional software emulation methods.

The price of the device starts at $149 for first buyers.

The console supports original PS1 games, controllers, memory cards and provides analog and digital outputs including HDMI, VGA and component video.

NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a slot for MicroSD cards are also announced. There will also be an additional disc drive that can be connected to the main unit for those who want to play from discs.

SS One is compatible with the popular MiSTer platform, allowing you to run games from other retro systems.
