“This afternoon, an unknown person brought an unidentified object to the Wildberries distribution point in Cheremkhovo and set it on fire. There was an explosion and a fire in an area of ​​4 square meters. The partitions were damaged and the glass broken. Fortunately there were no victims or injuries. There is no threat to the residents of the building in which the point is located,” Kobzev wrote.

The Wildberries press service reported that “the damage only affected the entrance to the collection point”, confirming that there were no victims as a result of the incident. The owner of the collection point intends to resume its operation “in a few days” after user orders, if necessary, are sent to neighboring collection points, the company said.

A criminal case has been opened over the explosion under the article of attempted murder, Anatoly Sitnikov, head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Irkutsk region, told reporters.

According to Kobzev, at the collection point they are looking for the man who caused the explosion.

On September 18, 2024, a shooting occurred near the Wildberries office in Moscow. The company then claimed that its co-founder, Vladislav Bakalchuk, had made “an illegal entry attempt with armed guards.” During the incident, according to investigators, two people were killed and seven were injured.
