The US president also added that the companies will be exempt from liability for helping to bypass the TikTok block before his decree takes effect.

“Americans deserve to see our exciting inauguration on Monday, as well as other events and debates,” the politician said.

This Sunday, after the federal law went into effect on January 19, 170 million American users lost access to the platform.

The agreement that Trump is talking about is the creation of a joint company to operate TikTok in the United States, in which 50% will be owned by “current owners and/or new owners”, and 50% will be owned by the US government.

“Without US approval, there is no TikTok. With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, if not trillions,” added Donald Trump.
