Megamarket, following complaints from sellers, will cancel the fee for removing merchandise from warehouses that the market decided to close. Shopper’s was informed about this by the president of the Association of Internet Commerce Companies (AKIT) Artem Sokolov and one of the sellers who received such information from the site administrator.

According to Shopper’s, sellers have until January 22 to pick up merchandise at 11 warehouses in the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and other regions. The publication noted that Megamarket replaced the closed warehouses with another 14, which are organized in the former IKEA premises and operate for express delivery by clicking.
Some sellers may not return to Megamarket, as the delivery area is shrinking and other conditions are changing. The market management undertook to get rid of goods that businessmen do not have time to withdraw, Shopper’s writes.
On the topic: Preparing for a sale: common mistakes of novice sellers
Last week, sellers who removed products from warehouses told the publication that they received invoices for preparing for shipping. For example, Megamarket ordered the leather accessories manufacturer Rels to pay 60 rubles per unit of product, and the businessman who sold underwear – 39 rubles.
AKIT noted that there were no violations, since the commission for bundling products specified in the offer was automatically applied to sellers. At the same time, sellers described the tariff for exporting products as “imposed” since they “had no other option.”
Rels filed a pretrial lawsuit against Megamarket, claiming that the market “created man-made conditions” when its warehouses were closed. The manufacturer insists that sellers should not bear financial responsibility or storage risks.
According to Shopper’s, two more sellers were preparing pre-trial claims and, in the future, more people may be willing to go to court. Sokolov from AKIT, in a conversation with the publication, said that Megamarket plans to cancel already issued invoices in order to “enter the position of partners.”
Megamarket’s press service declined to comment.
