The main position of the bill is a prohibition of distance education for practical classes. It argues that the theoretical part of education, including laws, courses and independent studies, can be performed remotely, but practical education should only be realized in clinical -based medical institutions.
The authors of the bill believe that the education of future doctors should contain direct contact with distance education.
The Deputy Rector of Education at the Russian National Research University, named after the Medical Sciences Doctor, Professor, Pirogova Olga Milushkin, expressed his support for the initiative. According to him, electronic education and distance technologies are useful for the theoretical part of the program, but they cannot replace practical training. For the effective training of future doctors, he emphasized that direct contact with the patient who is only possible in full -time format.
Milushkina is also important that teachers have appropriate tolerances for medical activities and that educational institutions have the necessary material and technical base in order to successfully implement such an approach. According to him, the measures taken will provide high quality education of health workers and guarantee patient safety.
