The lead author of the new study, Professor Douglas Teti of Pennsylvania State University, said they were surprised to learn that a child needs to sleep regularly for a year before starting kindergarten to better adapt to kindergarten. Especially at least 10 hours a day. Children who slept in the garden for at least 10 hours were more involved in learning, and their social and emotional skills were better than the others. The same was true for performance functions.

221 families participated in the study. During the week, the children wore special sleep monitoring devices. This was done four times during the year.

It turns out that when children sleep more than 10 hours, they quickly get used to kindergarten later. Also, the highest rates were among those who followed such a routine a year before gardening.
