if you saw Thor: Love and Thunder, it must have surprised you. Among jokes, adventures and skirmishes with bloody villains, a whole new generation of Asgardians has appeared. Including the son of the Bifrost Guardian, Heimdall. To the surprise of many viewers, the character was one of the highlights of the film. Especially when he used the gifts inherited from his father to help the rest of the children of New Asgard, kidnapped by Gorr.
This is an unexpected revelation about Heimdall, who was killed during Thanos’ siege of Asgard, just after Ragnarok. So far, there has been no hint of paternity or family life of the hero. According to the comic book movie, Astrid/Axl Heimdallson is not a comic book character.nor mythological. It was created specifically for the film. And especially to demonstrate the idea that, despite the destruction of Asgard, its inhabitants – and the vital center of the transcendence of the race – are still alive. In particular, it is touching that the newest member of the Bifrost family, the Keeper, has inherited all of his gifts in fiction. And let the character be a bridge between Thor and the victims of Gorr’s kidnapping.
A new generation of heroes comes to Marvel with Thor: Love and Thunder
Interestingly, the latest Marvel productions feature a whole generation of young heroes. This includes Speed and Wiccan in WandaVisionyoung Loki in the series LokiKate Bishop’s Hawkeye and Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel. Popular on the big screen America Chavez debuted in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And although it was not included in any of the projects of the fourth phase, Morgan Stark was a touching character in end of the game in 2019.

Now, Axel Heimdallson, as well as Love Odison, Thor’s adopted daughter, must be added to this curious team of superheroes. There are rumors that the latter could be something more than a descendant of the deceased Gorr and in reality would embody the Singularity. In the comic, the character is the epitome of dimensional rifts and possesses extraordinary powers. In the film, it was shown that once resurrected by Eternity, the girl has new mysterious abilities.
All indications are that although the project has not been officially announced, Young Avengers could be part of Marvel’s next phase. It would be a new superhero team – either in a movie or a Disney+ series – starring Axl Heimdallson and Love Odison. To make Marvel’s plans for the future more intriguing, both characters have powers of their own. So significant that they became the successors of their parents. At least in Alx’s case, his actions during the kidnapping of the Asgardian children were identical to those of his father. The little hero from Thor: Love and Thunder also inherited the ability to see and hear from a distance, as well as establish a mental connection with others.
Jr’s future at Marvel
Gradually, parts of a larger project are moving forward to clear up the future of Marvel. And especially, Axel Heimdallson seems to be part of that.In one of the last scenes of the movie Thor: Love and Thunder, can be seen while training with Lady Sif. And everything seems to indicate that both the little Guardian descendant and Love Odison will be part of a larger story. With a fifth of Thor all but confirmed, it’s likely that both characters will be more prominent in future stories.
Curious data? In the comic Sif is Heimdall’s sister.. So the fact that he’s coaching Axl has a special meaning. One of the details of Thor: Love and Thunder which pay homage to the original comic including the story of the god of thunder.
