According to the interlocutors, in the coming months, Openai will complete the project of its first chip and will launch it to the production in the Taiwan Manoucactoring plants (TSMC). Openai and TSMC refused to comment on Reuters.
The agency writes that although Openai seeks to start mass production of processors in TSMC capabilities in 2026, send the first project to the plant will cost tens of millions of dollars and take about six months. The dates can be reduced if Openai pays more for accelerated production.
