Halyk Bank and Caspi specified that the card must have a residence permit by Kazakhstan. The VTB said they resumed the release of the MIR payment system for non -residents.
“The bank completely established its systems and is ready to work according to the new requirements of the legislation of the Republic: the validity of the cards will now be 12 months. At the same time, for diplomatic workers and non -resident investors, cards can be extended up to three years, ”he added to VTB.
In turn, the operators of the call centers of Banco Eurasia, Nurbank and Home Credit Bank told Interfax that they have not yet resumed the issuance of cards to the non -residents of Kazakhstan.
Caspi and Home Credit Bank arrested card registration for non -residents of the country in mid -January. Later, Halyk Bank, Eurasia Bank, Nurbank and the local “daughter” of VTB introduced the same restrictions.
Before several Kazakhstani banks, the registration of non -resident cards, the Agency for the Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic limited the validity of non -resident cards of up to 12 months. The department explained the measure because it will minimize the “risks of using banking services in the field of drug trafficking and digital assets.”
