The study, published in Nature Microbiology, included 89 people with high blood sugar levels. Participants between the ages of 35 and 75 were randomly divided into two groups: one Sulforafan and the other – one placebo. The experiment lasted 12 weeks, 74 people joined until the end.

The results have shown that blood sugar in people receiving sulforafan has decreased much more than placebo areas. Participants with early diabetes symptoms, low resistance to insulin and fatty liver disease were particularly noticeable.

The additional stage of the study revealed that the effectiveness of the sulfer in people with certain intestinal bacteria is intensified. This discovery can help create personalized treatment of prediabetes.
