“We did not see any message with reference to the western brands themselves that they will return to Moscow. On a competitive basis, they can return, continue competition with Russian manufacturers, this is a completely normal world trade practice. This competition would be of consumer interest, that is, you and me, ”said Peskov in an informative session on Monday, February 17.
Previously, the Union of Shopping Centers (STC) said they offered to return to Russia Uniqlo, H&M and Inditex (Zara, Massimo Dutti, Bershka and other brands) that left the Russian market in 2022. They pointed out that they are ready to promote dialogue, Solve logistics problems and maintain “reimbursement without obstacles” of foreign companies.
The STC reported that they interviewed more than 100 larger shopping centers in Russia to discover their willingness to cooperate with UNIQLO, Inditex and H&M.
