During the new study, experts discovered two models that could help increase the risk of heart disease. For this, experts evaluated two separate adolescent groups at different times of the year. During the academic year, participants with an irregular sleep program on weekdays had a lower heart rhythm (VCR) variability, an important marker of heart and blood vessels.
In the days when there was no school (for example, weekends), adolescents who were later lying and spent more time in bed had something lower. Both of these patterns are signs that the child’s inner clock is not synchronized with the sleep cycle and training, social or work program.
The results of the study published in sleep magazine did not depend on demographic factors and total sleep amount in adolescents. Now, although not yet clear whether such changes are fixed, the dull variability of the heart rhythm is a predictor of increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
It can maintain a cycle of regular sleep and alertness to protect adolescents from negative consequences associated with heart.
