At WWDC 2022, Apple showed off a powerful ARKit 6-based RoomPlan tool that uses an iPhone/iPad and a LiDAR scanner to create 3D room layouts.

Shopify developer Russ Maschmeier has found a useful new use. Using RoomPlan, he “removed” all the furniture in the room, scanning the room in a couple of seconds.

With this function, moving objects are also perfectly recognized, they can also be “erased”. For example, this is how Maschmeier removed the dog from the room.
