Researchers analyzed the ice core samples from Greenland and Antarctica to find out how the explosion affected the climate. As a result of the explosion, a large amount of ash fell to the atmosphere that prevents sunlight and caused temporary cooling. However, as the study showed, the ashes quickly dispersed and prevented a long glacial age.

This discovery rejects previous theories that control long -term climate disasters. The team plans to examine other past explosions to better understand the results.
