In total, 45 million HDDs were shipped in the second quarter of 2022. Interestingly, at the peak of the popularity of hard drives in 2010, their shipments for the year amounted to 651 million units.
The best of everything is in the corporate segment. Here, shipments have dropped by just 2.5 million units compared to 2021. But in the consumer segment, the decline is more pronounced – 30%. The decrease in the mobile segment was 40%.
