National Research Technology University Misis (Moscow) scientists created a unique smart composite that could be used in controlled drug distribution. This material consists of a thermal sensitive polymer that changes a metal alloy and properties under the influence of a magnetic field. Studies have shown that such materials can be activated using standard medical equipment that opens new opportunities for the drug.

The material has a two-layer structure: a polymer coating consisting of a cooled iron rod alloy and a thermal sensitive Paul (N-Mijilaseride) when exposed to a magnetic field. This polymer is dissolved at a temperature below 32 ° C and becomes insoluble at higher temperatures that allow you to control the release of the drug. Especially for this, the antitumor medicine, which was placed in “holes” on the surface of the alloy, was used.

During the experiment, scientists used 3 -Drink magnetic fields found in modern tomographs. This area led to the cooling of the material and the release of the drug. Biological tests showed that the material did not damage living cells and confirms its high biiaxia. Scientists are sure that this composite can be the basis of new biomedical technologies such as tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
