According to Kacper Skrzypek Insider, in the Early Android 16 assembly for Xiaomi devices, there are lines showing the possibility of adjusting the frequencies and voltage of each CPU and GPU cluster.
That is, users can distribute the processor for maximum performance or, on the contrary, reduce frequencies to save batteries.
Idea is inspired by familiar approaches in the PC world, where acceleration and underwear is common. This will be a breakthrough for smartphones: Today, such functions are available only through game models and product software changes full of risks.
Xiaomi will also bring protective mechanisms: the system will monitor stability and automatically rotates the default settings in case of failure.
So far, function is in an early stage of development and may not enter the latest version of Android 16 – but the fact of work in this direction is already impressive. If Xiaomi applies an idea, flagships will take a new control level on the device – closer to the capabilities of a PC.
