This Thursday (14), special website Windows Center revealed Microsoft may be planning to release Windows 12 for 2024. More specifically, the rumor points to the company canceling its next major update called “Sun Valley 3” to focus on a new version of the operating system – it’s the successor to Windows 11 that was released less than a year ago. .

If approved, the change could mean a return to legacy release formats, with Microsoft releasing new versions of Windows every three years. However, it’s still important to point out that Windows 11 users won’t be left helpless, as Redmond Giant is planning higher-impact updates for the latest OS that will also include features that haven’t been released yet.

In this context, it is stated that the first features of Windows 11 do not come with a major update at least twice a year, as in Windows 10. as suggested by XDA Developers, “Windows Subsystem for Android” is available as an app and can be optionally purchased, for example, from the Microsoft Store.

However, most of the big news is likely to come to users in the next major Windows 11 update called “23H2”, which should be released in 2023.

Although a major change, the innovation has not yet been confirmed by Microsoft and therefore may be subject to internal changes. However, it is also worth remembering that the company has already changed the release schedule with the arrival of Windows 11 – something that may suggest another adaptation in the future.
