As Reddit users point out, in the US and Canada, when choosing a Fedora or Ubuntu in some ThinkPad X1 carbon models, the price of the device decreases $ 140.

On Lenovo’s official website, you can select the operating system when ordering. The price difference is noticed, but such an option is not available for the whole series – for example, some Thinkpad, Yoga, Legion and Loq models do not leave windows.

To quickly find Linux devices, it is sufficient to apply the operating system filter to the features section of the company’s website. This filter works for both American and some other Lenovo regional stores.

Previously, Dell has used a similar application, but in case, the purchase of Ubuntu and laptops did not lead to a decrease in the price. The Lenovo approach traditionally allows you to save and skip the Windows tax based on the price of most laptops on the market.
