Na_polka CEO Ekaterina Skribtsova noted that the company sees great potential in the south of Russia due to the active growth of small businesses and the seasonal influx of tourists. The service helps small businesses offer customers a wider range of products and streamline business processes, she stressed.
Currently, more than 40 suppliers are already connected to the platform and more than 200 customers from Krasnodar, Sochi, Simferopol, Sevastopol and other cities actively use the service for purchases.
According to the company’s own data, in the southern regions, beer and beer-based beverages of domestic production are in the highest demand in retail trade. However, there is little demand for frozen foods, cleaning products and spices, which are very popular in the central part of the country.
The budget allocated “on the shelf” for opening a new region is at least 1.5 million rubles at the initial stage. This amount can double or triple depending on the platform’s ambitions, regional characteristics and speed of commercialization. As implementation costs increase, revenues also begin to grow, the company added.
- “on_shelf” was launched in 2018. Two years later, the service began operating in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, and in 2023 – in Siberia and Tatarstan.
- According to Rosstat, as of July 1, 2024, there were more than 27 thousand outlets in the south of Russia, which is more than 6% of the total number in Russia.
