China smartphone market increased by 5% compared to last year and reached 70.9 million shipped devices. Growth was supported by state subsidies, which provides up to 15% (maximum 500 yuan) discount for cheaper smartphones than 6,000 Yuan. This helps to perfectly fit budget models such as Redmi.
Huawei ranked second with 13 million devices and 18% of the market to improve the next operating system thanks to popular folding smartphones.
Oppo and Vivo ranked third and fourth, and Apple lost 9% of posts and rose to fifth place with 9.8 million devices.
