Scientists of NITU Misis have found a way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in cast iron production without requiring expensive modernization of equipment. They suggested to add ore briquettes to raw materials for the domain ovens. This approach allows you to reduce emissions and costs by maintaining ordinary production processes.
Researchers have announced that the carbon and ore particles in the briquettes are in intense contact that improve their interactions in the oven. In addition, this method does not require ignition as in pellets that reduce energy consumption.
