MAI NIU’s scientists created a unique thermal installation that could process peat without releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. According to the university, the new development is designed to modernize or change coal and fuel heat -Electrocentrals. Technology is based on fuel gasification with subsequent oxygen gas burning, which allows you to capture released carbon dioxide.

Unlike traditional coal and gasoline stations, installation works effectively even with high moisture such as peats, such as peat. Here, the heat of the vapor returns to the cycle caused by the intensification of the steam, which increases efficiency. Developers state that such solutions are related to small stations in areas with difficult logistics or local fuel deposits. This not only reduces CO2 emissions, but also helps to improve environmental indicators.

The project was audited by the Head of Modeling and Energy Elections Design Department of Mai Niu Constantine Pleshanov. Development was supported by the Russian Science Fund. University rector Nikolai Rogalev believes that such technologies play a key role in the transition to environmentally friendly energy.
