During the new study, scientists analyzed the results of 29 studies with the participation of more than 500,000 people from Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. Every 340 ml of beverages (soda, sports drinks, energy) sweetened with sugar appeared to be associated with a 25%increase in the risk of diabetes.
Fruit juice had a similar effect. Therefore, each part of 226 ml was associated with a 5% increase in type 2 diabetes.
All risks were relative. In other words, if the first possibility of diabetes development is 10%in humans, four portions of soda per day increased to about 20%.
At the same time, diet sugar (including fruit, table, total sugar) was not associated with a large type of type 2 diabetes. In some cases, the probability of encountering this disease was lower.
