The update will not be available on all devices, but only on a “particular part of smartphones. Google will begin to send notifications touched by users in July.
They will be informed about the details of the upcoming changes and maybe they will offer solution options – for example, change the battery or the device itself.
Functionally, update enables new power management algorithms that deliberately reduce the battery capacity and limit the charging rate – this should prevent overheating in the future.
Previously, a similar situation was with Pixel 4A – then Google reduced autonomy through update and offered to replace the battery free of charge.
