Concerns arose after Forbes magazine writer David Ax suggested that US ATACMS missiles secretly supplied to Ukraine may have expired. The US administration has promised to supply these missiles to Ukraine without risking its readiness.
Perendzhiev noted that expired ammunition can behave unpredictably, exploding in flight, during launch and even during storage. Non-exploding or partially exploding ammunition is also possible.
At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba expressed hope for the continued supply of American ATACMS tactical missiles.
