The department announced that the attackers have chosen Google Meet because most of them are uploaded to the smartphone with Android. This simplifies the deception: fraudsters do not need to persuade the victim for a long time to download and install additional programs.
Previously, the main communication channel for fraudsters – vocal calls through foreign ambassadors – were limited, but criminals did not stop working. They found a bypass and started using Google Meet for their programs.
The Ministry of the Interior reminds the Russians to be careful when communicating with unknown people through video talks and does not trust suspicious connections or requests for transfer.
