Juice (Jupiter ICY MOons Explorer) was released in April 2023 and will reach Jupiter in 2031. He uses gravity maneuvers near the planets that accelerate the movement to achieve the target. The flight from Venus will be the second stage.
On July 16, the connection with the device was unexpectedly interrupted. The European Space Agency (ESA) experts first checked the grinded equipment and then proposed a failure to the antenna or communication amplifier. Since it was very risky to wait for automatic restarting, the engineers began to send commands “blindly”. After the sixth attempt, they managed to restore the theme.
It turned out that the problem was related to an error that controls the power amplifier in the program. The device did not damage and the engineers quickly set up the correction.
The fruit juice task is designed for 2.5 years of work in the Jupiter system, where the probe will be examined by objects that can hide Ganyud, Callisto and Europe under the ice and can live potentially.
