According to the new study, the cold transferred last month is associated with approximately 50% of the risk of developing COVID development compared to cases where a person is not sick.
Scientists have found that when they were infected with the coronavirus, the colds that previously transferred the course of the disease were easier. If the person experienced a cold before the development of Covid-19, the viral load reflecting the amount of virus in the human body was almost 10 times lower. Less load is associated with less serious development of the disease.
The decrease in viral load was associated with people who were the development of some protective proteins of the respiratory tract activated by rhinovirus. Apparently, after the cold, the body is prepared for the coronavirus.
