The method consists of the insertion of additional functional groups into hormone molecules that expand the spectrum of biological activities. This makes it possible to create steroid derivatives with features that are important for the development of new drugs. Among the advantages of technology, there is a definite effect on certain areas of the molecule and a simplified synthesis scheme.

Development continues as part of the Priority 2030 program with the Tula Pharmaceutical Factory, the industrial partner of the university. Scientists participate in the formation of substances for strategically important drugs and records of the Russian Federation Ministry of Health.
