We are talking about the International Student Olympics (ICPC) of 2025 in Baku. There, the model not only took a place in the “Golden Group, but also solved one of the tasks that a single person did not do.

Gemini was able to perform 10 out of 12 recommended tasks corresponding to the level of the championship winners correctly.

One of the tasks – the distribution of the liquid on the network of pipes with an infinite number of configurations – the model decided in less than half an hour. To do this, a game based on the Minimax theorem used theoretical approach and an algorithm.

Google says that this abstract thinking has led the Gemini to a new stage towards AGI.

According to the company, the skills shown in the ICPC can be used in various fields from the development of drugs to the design of microchips.

Experts emphasize: the future lies in collaboration with human and artificial intelligence that algorithms will offer unexpected solutions and people to control people in practice.
