To do a new study, scientists developed a new visualization technology. This was called “improved detection of units in Parkinson’s disease” (ASA-PD). Thanks to him, you can see oligomers on a nanometer scale (one billion meter).

After the death of the brain of people with Parkinson’s disease, experts compared with healthy human examples, oligomers found that both versions. It was only larger, brighter and more among those who suffered from Parkinson.

According to scientists, fine differences in the distribution of oligomers may show the earliest stages of the disease years before the emergence of symptoms. They also hopes that at the end of the mapping of these oligomers, diagnostic tests will lead to new ways to monitor the effectiveness of experimental drugs.

The results of the study were published in Nature Biomedical Engineering magazine.
