In September, Apple released macOS Tahoe, a new version of the computer’s emitter system with “liquid glass” and other “innovative” elements.
I’ve been moving Tahoe around for a month now and at the same time I’m using Windows 11. I’ll tell you why the revolution makes me miss the time when I was actively using Indu.
Now I work and don’t get in the way. How I got rid of unnecessary settings in macOS and noise settings
Briefly: what’s new in macOS Tahoe
The new macOS received the largest number of innovations in comparison with other versions of macOS that were released after Big Sur (2020). Here’s what they did in Tahoe:
1. Updated the interface – it is called Liquid Glass or “liquid glass”. Panels, icons, widgets and windows now have depth and translucency effects.
2. Added more customization. You can change the color of the icons or make them brighter or with the desired shade. This folder can also be set on the site.
3. The Control Center has been redesigned. Now it looks and does damage like an iPhone. In addition, the menu bar has also become transparent.
4. Pumped up the Spotlight. In the system search engine, you can search for applications, files, application files and access content. clipboard.
And other little things: we protected synchronization with iPhone, added “Games”, “Diary” and “Phone” applications, and updated the design of other application standards.

What makes macOS Tahoe sad?
Overall, macOS Tahoe leaves a good impression. Thanks to the Liquid Glass system it looks “lighter” and neater, Spotlight has become really cool. But it’s still far from ideal.
– disadvantages that I encountered during a month of work, and which were not observed in previous macOS and Windows 11.
1. Lots of bugs and glitches. Sometimes there are problems with animation and support of applications and interface; the Wi-Fi network often requires entering a password. absolutely.
2. The design needs improvement. This is especially true for sidebars in Finder and branded apps. There is a feeling that they were redone in a hurry, as these sections look like a temporary solution.

The side panels need to be adjusted so that they are not in the way or visible inland.
3. Removed Launchpad. It now opens to the Apps section in Spotlight instead. And then everything went wrong. Through the active corner, it starts with a slight delay and often with jerky animation, but it also does not always turn on. right the first time. There seems to be logic in alphabetical sorting applications, but in the official mixed programs for Mac and iPhone you can change their order. it is forbidden. Against this background, Windows Start looks noticeably customized.

4. Loss of productivity and autonomy. My MacBook Air M1 is three and a half years old. Before updates to macOS Tahoe, the laptop easily held a charge for 10–12 hours. Now the interest is flying away much faster, the system has become less nimble. This is especially noticeable in the Safari browser, which is already slow with a couple of “heavy” tabs like Google Docs and YouTube Music. And this is not some ancient Mac on Intel, a device on the proprietary M1 chip, which worked perfectly just a month ago.
💻 In general, macOS Tahoe looks more modern, and in some places nicer than its predecessors. However, behind the whole existence lies a loss of stability and comfort.
In the end I just missed Windows
I’ve used Windows as my main system source for 19 years. I started with the ancient millennium and sat on this OS until version 11.
I never gave a damn about the Microsoft system. Windows worked, although not always perfectly, but still acceptable.
There were also complaints: The status was sometimes lame (some of this can be written on the device), there were problems with drivers, as well as many stable archaic interfaces.
And now I’ve been using Windows again for six months (not for work, but only for games) – and I don’t find any reason to criticize it at all. The OS responds quickly, smoothly and without any bugs, the Microsoft Edge browser is noticeably faster than Safari on Tahoe.
After a number of Windows 11 updates over the years, I have no dislike for the interface. Panels, context menus, all the smallest elements of the system – everything that remained in our places, but practically began to look nicer and more modern. In macOS, you often have to get used to a lot of things in a new way – either the system settings will be redrawn, or Launchpad will be removed, or a redesign will be done somewhere else.
And Windows still quietly launches old programs and games. In macOS, things are not special with this even now, and from 2027 it will be even worse: Apple will completely cut down the Rosetta 2 emulator and applications for Intel on Macs with M-chips will no longer be able to run.
Will I go for Windows?
Definitely not yet. Despite all the problems and controversial decisions in macOS Tahoe, I still consider macOS to be my system. I like her look and enjoy working for her. In addition, I appreciate how everything is connected here: laptop, phone, headphones – this is one connection where everything works without the need to go into the settings and manually reconnect.
But if Apple continues to make the system heavier and add visual effects at the expense of stability, fast action and comfort, then I will head to Indus with peace of mind. Fortunately, she also looks nice now and works stably. And I don’t need anything more from the computer.
The Liquid Glass design from iOS 26 was brought to Windows. ExplorerBlurMica was released, which makes the Explorer translucent.
