According to IDC analysts, global PC shipments in the third quarter of 2025 increased 9.4% year-on-year to 75.8 million units. Particularly in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, a noticeable growth of approximately 14% was recorded. However, in North America, the market increased by only 1%.
Lenovo remains the market leader (25% of shipments), followed by HP (about 20%), Dell (13%), Apple (9%) and Asus (8%).
Experts attribute this to the consequences of US tariffs and economic uncertainty. Retailers pre-purchased large quantities of computers at the beginning of the year, anticipating higher prices due to tariffs, and are now facing excess inventory.
Buyers, on the other hand, are not in a hurry to update the devices, postponing major expenses due to increasing prices. However, analysts say that demand for new computers supporting Windows 11 will continue to increase in 2026.
