Researchers have found that by using a combination of calcium carbonate and proteins, the conversion of brushite into hydroxyapatite, the main mineral component of bones and teeth, can be controlled. This process is based on the Rebonding effect, which allows you to control the shape and size of the crystals formed.

The problem of implant survival remains one of the main challenges in modern orthopedics and dentistry. The new development could solve this problem because the structures created do not just replace, but actually become the body’s natural bone tissue.

The technology allows not only to accelerate the healing process, but also to provide the necessary strength of the restored bone structures, the press service noted.
