Vitamin D production decreases with lack of sunlight. It is important for bones, immunity, heart and metabolism. Due to the deficiency of this vitamin, muscles weaken, bones become brittle, the person often catches colds and infections, and the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases increases.

Small doses of UV radiation help wounds heal faster, destroy fungi and bacteria, and reduce inflammation. With prolonged lack of sun, the skin ages faster, becomes more susceptible to infections, and looks unhealthy and dull.

Completely avoiding sunlight makes vision less sharp, increases the risk of developing myopia, and can cause retinal deterioration, especially in the elderly.

Lack of sun is also linked to dysregulation of blood sugar and lipids. As a result, the body absorbs glucose worse, fat accumulation increases, the risk of developing diabetes and lipid metabolism disorders increases.
